Adopt-A-Family

Our class collected 305 items and dollars!!!  Thank you to everyone for contributing. I know we have helped to brighten the holidays for many families in our community.
Here is what it looked like outside our door!
And if you've ever wondered what it looks like altogether, check this out!
Your generosity is overwhelming!  Thank you for opening your hearts (and wallets).  These things don't just happen without many hours of behind the scenes work by our tireless volunteers. Thank you Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. Nieman for all of your work with Adopt-A-Family.

Winter Holiday Celebration

Today was a great day of learning as students and their parents shared their cultures and traditions.  We finished out the day with Selma and Aidin M. teaching us a traditional Bosnian folk dance!

Catapults!

We are becoming a scientific community!  Like scientists, we have been asking questions, posing hypotheses, testing our ideas, and recording our findings.  We are also writing precise procedures so our experiments can be duplicated.  This is what our class has looked like for the last two days as we have started Bend II of our informational writing unit: Lab Reports and Science Books.
Things to look for:
  • Lots of writing!  Look closely at our ideas!
  • Amazing thinking!
  • Extreme concentration--notice the number of tongues out! :)
  • Cooperation and teamwork!  Also known as synergizing!
  • Look in the background...everyone is busy!

Wow!  So many ideas!  We are just getting started!
